I plan on using this space as a tool to plan and organize daily Learning Objectives and Agendas for my English Language Development classes. Daily Learning Objectives and Agendas can be found by clicking on the desired class' calendar and date.
Materials: Each day bring pens, pencils, and a notebook. You may keep your notebook in the student file container.
Course Description and Objectives
The English Learner program at El Cajon Valley High School offers students a comprehensive academic program that develops English fluency as quickly as possible while providing access to English Language Arts high school level standards.

Calendar of Assignments and Due Dates
Please click on the calendar in the sidebar menu. Also, students are required to write their homework in their planners each day.
Grading / Evaluation Grades will be based on performance on California ELA standards and learning targets. There will be multiple opportunities to prove learning occurred. The practice for the learning will not be included in the grade but is essential for success. Although formative assessment scores will not be included in the grade book, the assessments will be graded in a timely manner so that students receive the necessary feedback. Student grades are made up of 4 categories:
Reading Standards: 35%
Reading Notes/Assignments
Reading Tests
Writing Standards: 35%
Writing Notes/Assignments
Writing Tests
Speaking Standards: 15%
Participating in speaking activities.
Language Standards: 15%
Daily notes
Participating in Student Centered Learning Environments
Assignments
Students must complete all assignments. This includes class work as well as homework.
Late assignments will be accepted for full credit. However, in order to turn in a late assignment students must first spend 30 minutes in the classroom, or in Night Library. If students do not want to spend their time this way then they should simply turn in work on time!
